    What happens to one email

    Each part of the message becomes something you can open, search and share on its own.

    • A folder per sender

      Everything from Ján lands in /Migadu/andrej@culacc.com/Ján Novák/, with names in Slovak, Czech or any language kept as they are.

    • The message as a page

      The email is saved as 2026-11-05 - Faktúra za október.html, with its logo and pictures inside, so it opens on its own years from now.

    • Attachments as real files

      faktúra.pdf and rozpis.xlsx sit next to it, with previews, and open in Culacc's own editors. The same file sent twice is stored once.

    • Trackers stay quiet

      When you read a saved email, remote images and tracking pixels are blocked until you choose to show them, so the sender never learns you opened it.

    Each mailbox gets its own tab under “Shared with me”, next to Outlook and your share links.

    Works with your mailbox

    Outlook, Fastmail and Migadu connect in one step. Any other mailbox with IMAP works too; for the common ones, Culacc fills in the server for you.

    Outlook and Microsoft 365 connect from the Microsoft app in Culacc, with one Microsoft sign-in. Tuta has no IMAP, so it can't be connected.

    Set it up in a minute

    Everything happens in Culacc's Settings.

    1. Pick your providerChoose Outlook, Fastmail, Migadu, or your provider from the list. Typing your address picks it for you.
    2. Sign in onceSign in with Microsoft for Outlook, paste a Fastmail API token, or enter your address and an app password. Culacc checks it before saving anything.
    3. DoneYour inbox and sent mail are copied over, and new email keeps arriving by itself within seconds.

    What Culacc does with your mailbox, and what it never does.

    Read-only

    Culacc never moves, deletes or marks emails as read, and can't send email from your account.

    Your copy stays

    Delete an email in your mailbox and the copy in Culacc stays. Disconnecting keeps it too, unless you choose to remove it.

    Passwords encrypted

    Your password or token is stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM and used only to fetch new email.

    Stored in the EU

    Emails go to the same EU-hosted storage as the rest of your Culacc files.

    Room to grow

    Emails count towards your storage. If it fills up, syncing pauses on the next email and carries on by itself once there's room.

    Several mailboxes

    Connect up to ten accounts, each in its own folder and its own tab, with an optional tag for every file it brings in.

    Questions

    Does Culacc change anything in my mailbox?

    No. Culacc only reads. It never moves, deletes or marks emails as read, and it can't send email from your account.

    What if I delete an email in my mailbox?

    The copy in Culacc stays. That is the point of a backup: if an email disappears from your mailbox, it is still in your Culacc files.

    Which mailboxes work?

    Outlook and Microsoft 365, Fastmail, Migadu and any mailbox that offers IMAP: Seznam, Azet, Centrum, GMX, WEB.DE, T-Online, Posteo, mailbox.org, iCloud Mail, Yahoo, Zoho Mail and your own server. Tuta has no IMAP, so it can't be connected.

    Is my password safe?

    It is stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM and used only to fetch new email. Where your provider offers app passwords or API tokens, use one: you can revoke it at any time without changing your real password.

    Are old emails copied too?

    Yes. The first sync copies your inbox and sent mail, newest first, and then keeps up with new email. Emails over 50 MB are listed but not downloaded.

    How much does it cost?

    Email sync is free. Your emails count towards your storage: every account gets 5 GB free, and more comes in 100 GB blocks from €0.50 a month.
