What makes this different

Most online file converters upload your file to a server, convert it there, and email or stream the result back. That works, but it means your photos, contracts, recordings, and documents pass through someone else's infrastructure — often with vague retention policies and ads everywhere. This converter runs entirely in your browser. Image and document conversions use native browser APIs. Video and audio conversions use FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. Either way, your file never travels over the network.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Image, document, PDF, and text conversions run locally using your browser's JavaScript engine. Video and audio conversions use FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly — also entirely in your browser. Files never leave your device.

Why is video conversion so slow on my phone?

Because your phone is doing the work, not a server. FFmpeg-on-WebAssembly is fast, but mobile CPUs are slower than desktops. For large videos (over ~100 MB), a desktop browser is significantly quicker.

Can I convert a multi-page PDF to images?

Yes. Pick JPG or PNG as the target format. Each page becomes a separate image and all images are packaged into a single ZIP file for download.

Is there a file size limit?

Browser memory is the only constraint. Most files under 500 MB convert without issues. Very large videos may take a minute or two on slower devices.

Why don't you support converting to DOCX or XLSX?

Producing valid DOCX or XLSX files in the browser is technically possible but unreliable for complex layouts. We'd rather not offer something that breaks formatting silently. For now, conversion into Office formats happens server-side in Culacc accounts, where ONLYOFFICE handles it properly.

Can I save the converted file to my cloud?

Yes — make a free Culacc account (5 GB, every feature unlocked) and use the Save to my Culacc button. The converted file lands in your storage, available on every device you sync.
